The military base is located on the surface of a barren moon, on side that is always towards Gravis Major. It is devoid of atmosphere and constantly bombarded by strong solar radiation and rogue meteorites. It is a sprawling complex of reinforced dome structures and bunkers, connected by a network of tunnels and light structure over-pressure walkways between airlocks that crisscross the moon’s ground and surface.
The base is heavily fortified, with multiple layers of defenses designed to withstand any assault. Its outer perimeter is ringed by a series of massive walls, lined with gun emplacements and minefields that are constantly monitored by advanced sensors and surveillance equipment.
Inside the perimeter, the base is divided into different sectors, each with its own set of defensive measures and specialized equipment. One of the sectors houses a fleet of fighter jets, capable of engaging enemy forces both in space and on the ground.
The fighter squadron is made up of a diverse mix of pilots, each with their own unique skills and specialties. Some are adept at close-range dogfighting, while others are experts in long-range bombardment or torpedo attacks. All of them are highly skilled and dedicated, and they know that their mission is vital to gain the mercy in the eyes of the God-emperor.
The pilots are housed in a separate dedicated barracks, equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities and simulators. They spend their days practicing complex maneuvers and tactics, honing their skills to perfection so that they can take on even the most challenging enemy targets.
The fighter jets themselves are stored in a series of reinforced hangars, equipped with advanced maintenance and repair equipment. The aircraft are constantly monitored and serviced by a team of highly trained technicians, who work around the clock to ensure that they are always in top condition and ready for action.
Life on the moon base is harsh and unforgiving, but the pilots and ground crew of the fighter squadron know that their mission is vital to the survival of humanity. They are willing to risk everything to protect the Imperium from its enemies, and they stand ready to take to the skies at a moment’s notice to engage any threat that comes their way.
