The designs that laid the foundation for the Secutor class warships emerged from lessons learned from this, a now-legendary vessel. The initial design, refined through the construction and adaptation of this precursor ship, revealed the shortcomings of existing light cruisers, particularly in heavy starship combat scenarios. As a result, when Forge Worlds began to realize that their cruiser models were under-armed for such engagements, the advancements found from this excavated vessel were instrumental.
Rather than committing the immense resources needed to develop entirely new true cruisers, the Mechanicus utilized the breakthroughs from this ship’s structure, fortifying the frame with superior armaments and defensive capabilities, thus giving birth to the Secutor class. Heavily focused on warfare, the Secutor-class retained much of the technological enhancements of this vessel but at the cost of reduced maneuverability. However, its specialized design meant it excelled in combat roles.

Past history:

  • Ancient Hull Design – The vessel’s hull dates back to a long-forgotten age of the Imperium, utilizing construction methods no longer fully understood. Its archaic framework features reinforced plates and intricate gothic engravings, making it a relic that still stands strong despite millennia of service. +5 Command vs Chaos Marine boarding actions
  • Outfitted for war – It is designed solely for combat, and in anticipation of this her masters have equipped her with the heavy power couplings and projection arrays required to maintain multiple void shields. The Secutor can use ‘cruiser only’ Void Shield Components.
  • Flagship – This ship once led an entire fleet into battle, acting as the flagship of a grand Imperial expedition or crusade. It was a symbol of power and authority, hosting the highest-ranking officers and command staff, and remains a vessel of immense prestige. “Lit the Void” void combat action.
  • Scars of Fierce Battles – This vessel bears a single massive scar from a devastating engagement in its past. A gaping wound across its hull has since been repaired with layers of armor and plating. While fully operational, the repair remains a visible reminder of the near-fatal damage it sustained, and the patchwork has become an iconic feature of the ship, symbolizing its indomitable resilience. +2 morale, -1 hull integrity
  • Bound to Orbit – For centuries, this vessel remained tethered to an Imperial world, acting as a planetary defense platform. Its systems fell to dormancy, and it’s crew Untested, but now it needs to be reawakened, honed to serve the Imperium once again. -5 to crew rate until warp jump, star system approach and combat engagement have been faced.

Machine spirit:

  • Stormcaller – Enthralled by space phenomena, this machine spirit reacts with excitement to stellar storms, asteroid fields, and gravitational anomalies. +10 to piloting when navigating through dangerous celestial environments.

Traits:

  • Rogue Trader’s Pride – A Rogue Trader flagship, the ship’s halls are filled with trophies, spoils, and relics from a numerous campaigns.
  • Unstable Grav-Plates – The artificial gravity sometimes fluctuates in certain areas of the ship, leading to momentary weightlessness or crushing pressure, depending on where crew members are.
