Captain’s Throne of Command

At the heart of the armoured command bridge, raised upon a ceramite-clad dais, stands the Captain’s Throne of Command—a fusion of throne, interface, and altar. It is both a tool of war and a symbol of absolute authority.

Only those of the Von Ulm bloodline may access it. A gene-lock interface examines the Captain’s geneprint before unlocking command systems; impostors are met with lethal toxin. A neural MIU port links directly to the ship’s machine-spirit, granting the Captain enhanced tactical awareness and control of the fleet’s operations.

The throne is reinforced with ceramite shielding, inertial stabilizers, and emergency auto-seal protocols, ensuring the Lord-Captain remains protected even in void combat. Surrounding it are tactical hololiths, vox-amplifiers, and command relays—all tuned to the Captain’s leisure.

Adorning the rear is the Sigil of the Slain Horn: a relief depicting the Rogue Trader severing a xenos unicorn’s horn. Draped scrolls bearing the Blessings of a Hundred Cardinals hang on either side, radiating ecclesiastical power and reinforcing the Captain’s divine right to command.

When the Lord-Captain speaks from the throne, it is not merely command—it is doctrine. And none on the bridge dare disobey.

The rear of the throne bears an etched adamantine relief: the image of the Rogue Trader Lord-Captain SepedeusVon Ulm in plumed armor, severing the horn from a slain xenos unicorn, its blood pooling beneath the symbolic constellation of Drusus Marches.
This heraldic device—known as the Sigil of the Severed Horn—symbolizes Imperium’s dominion over the unnatural, a rite of conquest sanctified by Terran tradition and Rogue Trader Charter alike.

The Blessings of One Hundred Faithful

Draped across the flanking pillars of the throne are new and aged parchment scrolls, lacquered to resist bridge vapors and battle damage. These parchments bear the blessings of one hundred Imperial Cardinals, each inscribed with ink mixed with sacred oils and sanctified ink.
The collection, known as “The Benediction Scrolls” amplifies the throne’s sanctity, projecting an aura of doctrinal authority across the command deck. Cherubim Aerie occasionally intone excerpts when commands are issued, reinforcing the Divine Right of the Lord-Captain.

Each scroll bears its own purity seal, sigil, and decree in High Gothic:
“He who commands this vessel speaks with the breath of Terra, the wrath of Him-on-Earth, and the right of absolute dominion beneath the stars.”
