Standard Bridge Officer Quarters
Measuring approximately 6.5 by 5 meters, the room features a vaulted ceiling framed by gold-inlaid ceramite beams. The walls are paneled in rich, lacquered sablewood, each segment bordered in riveted brass. Floors are laid with obsidian tiles veined in deep bronze, softened by a central runner woven with High Gothic litanies invoking vigilance on the duty.
Lighting and Atmosphere
Light is cast from four wall-mounted iron candelabras, each bearing wax candles hand-dipped in tallow and scented with aloeswood and myrrh. These are maintained daily by bonded servants, who trim wicks and replenish wax in accordance with shipboard liturgical routines. Their flickering light bathes the room in a warm, reverent glow, dancing upon polished wood and polished iron alike.
Furnishings
- Four-Poster Bed:
A heavy-framed bunk rests beneath a canopy of crimson velvet. Brass finials adorn each post, and gold-threaded curtains hang on each side—closed each evening by habit, even in vacancy. - Hardwood Desk:
Set beneath the central viewing arch is a broad blackwood desk, carved with aquilas and laurels along its edges. Inset candleholders are fused to the corners, and the center bears a polished slate inlay for styluswork or parchment. - Armored Chest:
Adjacent to the foot of the bed rests a squat, iron-bound armored chest. Reinforced with ceramite panels and bearing a dial-lock, it is standard issue for the storage of confidential documents, valuables, or sanctioned sidearms. Currently sealed and inscribed with a purity seal awaiting new occupant blessing.
Devotional & Heraldic Iconography
Dominating the rear wall is a cast-bronze relief of the Von Ulm heraldry:
Sepedeus Von Ulm, clad in plumed void-plate, is shown in dramatic bas-relief severing the horn from a slain xenos unicorn. Its ichor is stylized into constellations of the Drusus Marches, symbolizing dominion through righteous conquest.
A recessed shrine niche—empty in this case—is mounted near the entrance, intended for personal icons, saint-busts, or vox-relay prayers.
Other Facilities
- Ablution Cell:
Accessible via rear door, the small hygiene chamber features a plasteel washbasin, incense braziers, and a mechanized hygiene unit with recessed ventilation. - Vox & Access Systems:
A standard command-grade vox terminal is affixed beside the entry arch, configured for officer-grade cipher access. It allows connection to internal command channels, emergency hails, and deck-wide broadcast override (with proper clearance).- Additionally, the vox includes a coded sub-channel that links directly to the assigned chamber valet, allowing the occupant to summon cleaning servitors, candle stewards, fresh garments, meal trays, or message runners as needed. This valet line is considered a formal component of officer protocol and is logged within the ship’s domestic service logs.
- Emergency lockdown studs, a silent alarm rune, and private channel toggles are integrated discreetly beneath a sealed brass panel.
- Weapon locker, A wall-mounted, sealed and warded with the sigil of the Master of Arms, awaits individual clearance before access.
