Psyker’s Sigil

Back to Warpcraft main page

Every psyker leaves behind a unique psychic signature, often called a Psyker’s Sigil — an immaterial “handprint” left in the Warp by their will when they project power.

This sigil is not visible to the eye but can be sensed, tracked, or analyzed through specialized powers and talents.

Detecting a Sigil

A Psyker’s Sigil can be detected in the following ways:

  • With Psyscience: A high-level Psyscience test can reveal residual signatures left behind after a psychic effect has been projected.
  • With Know + Warp powers: These can read, interpret, or trace a sigil left on an item, person, or area affected by a psychic power.
  • With Talismans or Warp-sensory tools: Specialized relics may grant bonuses or passive detection.

Reading a sigil may reveal information such as: the psyker’s emotional state, discipline used, level of power, origin point, or even identity if previously known.

🫥 Hiding a Sigil

Suppressing or concealing your sigil requires specialized mental discipline:

  • Requires a Talent
  • May apply a -10 x Int check DoS to detection rolls
  • Does not affect power performance but may increase Perils risk if forced or rushed

Leaving a Sigil Intentionally

A psyker can intentionally imprint their sigil onto a psychic projection:

  • This is a free action during power projection
  • The imprint can serve as a calling card, warning, or proof of authorship
  • Makes the signature easily readable by anyone with basic Warp sensing or Psyscience
