By the sovereign authority vested in the office of Lord Admiral Septimus Ketter, Commander Supreme of Imperial Fleet XXII, and in accordance with the ancient statutes of the Navis Imperialis, the following injunction is issued to all vessels assigned to Patrol Detachment Sigma. Let no captain, officer, or servant of the Throne claim ignorance of its provisions.

I. Purpose and Course of the Operation

Patrol Detachment Sigma shall proceed upon a circumscribed reconnaissance passage through the following stellar dominions:

The appointed patrol shall therefore undertake the following duties:

  • To observe and catalogue any vessel, signal, or habitation not sanctioned by Imperial authority.
  • To monitor disturbances of the Immaterium, psychic anomalies, or signs of xenos resurgence.
  • To preserve the Emperor’s dominion by ensuring that no profane remnant of Yu’vath artifice awakens within these desolated spheres.

All findings are to be recorded with scrupulous precision and transmitted through encrypted astropathic channels to Fleet Command.

II. Protocol of Hostile Encounter

Should Patrol Detachment Sigma encounter an adversary—whether xenos, renegade, or warp-tainted vessel—the following emergency procedure shall be enacted without hesitation:
