Imperial Holy Calendar: Ianuarius

The first month of the Imperial calendar is a time of renewal and solemn reflection, marked by vows of loyalty, rites of purification, and the celebration of saints who embody the Emperor’s divine will.


1st Day:

Feast of the Emperor’s Ascension

  • The holiest day of the year, celebrating the Emperor’s ascension upon the Golden Throne. Great processions fill the streets, accompanied by feasting and prayers for His eternal protection. Nobles host extravagant gatherings, while the faithful offer blessings and reaffirm their devotion.

3rd–5th Days:

Compitalia of Saints

  • Moveable feasts dedicated to local saints and martyrs. These days honor those who have defended the Imperium’s faith and purity, marked by regional processions and blessings at shrines.

9th Day:

Dies Agonalis Janitorum (Day of Gatekeepers)

  • A sacred day for shrine worlds, fortress worlds, and those who protect the boundaries of Imperial territories. Gatehouses and bastions are blessed by priests, and the faithful pray for vigilance against xenos and heretics.

11th and 15th Days:

Carmentalia

  • Twin days honoring Saint Carmenta, a visionary blessed with foresight who guided Imperial settlers to safe worlds during the Great Crusade. Observances include blessings for planetary governors and colonization efforts.

13th Day:

Dies Votiva (Day of Vows)

  • A day of renewal, where vows of loyalty to the Emperor are spoken across the Imperium. Ecclesiarchal leaders preside over ceremonies in which billions rededicate themselves to the Imperial Creed.

24th–26th Days:

Sementivae Sancta (Sowing Festival)

  • A festival of devotion and productivity, where agricultural worlds hold rites to bless crops and pray for abundant harvests. Priests consecrate fields and manufactorums alike, tying the Emperor’s light to the labors of His faithful.

27th Day:

Dies Natalis Templum Geminorum (Day of Twin Saints)

  • Celebrates the founding of the twin temples of the Emperor on Holy Terra and Sacred Mars. Pilgrims light twin incenses to honor balance and strength in service of the Emperor and Omnissiah.
